Pharmaceutical Workforce Development
Acknowledging the need for competent professionals to drive the charge towards the growth of Africa’s pharmaceutical sector, we established the Pharmacy Academy – an institute of the African Pharmaceutical Network (APN) that focuses on pharmaceutical sciences and practice with an aim of training market-ready, fit-for-purpose professionals for Africa’s pharmaceutical future.
With a mission to bridge the skills gap in transforming Africa’s pharmaceutical value chain, we:

The African Union acknowledging trade barriers as a hurdle towards the realization of Agenda 2063: The Africa We Want, rolled out the AfCFTA Treaty as a solution towards a single African market. To operationalize AfCFTA and harness potential of the pharmaceutical sector, we:
- Champion for the adoption & operationalization of the Protocol to the Treaty Establishing the African Economic Community Relating to Free Movement of Persons, Right of Residence and Right of Establishment.
- Champion the development and operationalization of frameworks for strategic projects to address concerns and risks posed by AfCFTA with regards to illicit trade in pharmaceuticals in the continent.
